Similar charges apply when seeking information within your area code as well as when seeking information for a distant area code. Requests with insufficient details are also billed as are numbers which are not listed and those which are non-published. Local information charges do not apply to calls from hospitals. (Subject to change without notice). Information charges for calls from cellular phones are billed through your cellular provider. Charges for long distance information (calls outside your area code) may be handled by a long distance company other than Latelco. Customers who have a disability which prevents use of a directory may apply for waiver from these charges through the customer service representatives.

HOW TO CALL INFORMATION
  • For Local Numbers: 1411 or 555-1212.
  • For in-state numbers outside your local calling area, but with the same area code as yours:
    1 + 985 + 555 - 1212
    Charges apply for calls to this number.
  • For numbers with a different area code from yours.
    1 + area code + 555 - 1212
  • If the number you're calling is in a different area code within the state, or in another state, you are charged for calls to this number.
  • For telephone numbers of people and business who have “800” numbers:
    1 + 800 + 555-1212
    You are required to dial the area code.
 
WAYS TO SAVE ON INFORMATION CHARGES
  • Before calling information, try checking the Yellow Pages for names, spelling, and numbers of restaurants, stores or other businesses.
  • Write down the numbers that you call frequently. You may wish to circle or underline a number in your directory to quickly find the number a second time.
  • If you need two numbers, request them at the same time. Once a call to information has been placed, a second listing is given at no extra charge.*
  • You can save the cost of a second call to Information if you can supply complete information the first time, exact location, accurate spelling and full names.
